Voice - Michelle Lehman

Michelle Lehman has been working in the entertainment industry, under her maiden name, Michelle Yules, since the late 1980’s when she started as an intern at Famous Music Publishing in NYC and quickly rose to the position of East Coast Creative Director.

As an industry professional, she worked with many notable artists such as Living Color, Boyz To Men, Bjork, 4 Non Blonde’s Linda Perry & Sade, to name a few. During this time, she also served on the elected steering committee for The National Music Publishers Association & taught elite songwriting workshops for The Songwriters Guild of America and spoke on numerous industry panels. She was the first manger of folk/pop trio The Nields.

As a singer, Michelle studied with some of the finest vocal and performance instructors in New York including Claude Stein, Don Lawrence, Ann Ruckert and Tony Award winner, Herb Green.

As a performer, Michelle is lead vocalist for the alternative/folk band, Twisted Gypsies. She has also performed with jazz legends Dianne Schur and Sarah Dash and the legendary lead singer of Renaissance, Annie Haslan . She has had the honor of singing the National Anthem for a Mets game at Shea Stadium. Michelle has also appeared in numerous plays and musicals, appeared on television in commercials and at The Grammys, and most recently shot a pilot for Oxygen Network.

As a writer, she has collaborated with many hit songwriters and has songs on several CD’s including independent artist William Brooks and the “Garth Brooks” of Australia, James Blondell. She also co-wrote and performed a hot club dance single in the 90’s with writer/producer Big Ed Moore. Michelle has also won certificate of merit from Billboard Magazine for her song “Let It Rain.”

As a teacher, Michelle incorporates all she has learned from her varied and vast experience as a student, writer, performer and industry professional and helps her students grow as vocalists and develop as strong, all around performing artists.

Classes are private and 30 minutes long. Each class is $30. There is a minimum commitment of one month (4 classes for $120) payable in full at the first of each series of classes.
